Simon D. Campion serves as executive vice president and president of the Medical Segment of BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company), a leading global medical technology company headquartered in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey. In this role, he is responsible for driving the global operational, commercial and financial performance of the three business units that comprise BD’s largest segment, including BD Medical Delivery Solutions, BD Medication Management Solutions and BD Pharmaceutical Systems. Campion is also a member of the BD Executive Leadership Team.

Campion also serves as interim president of the Interventional Segment of BD, overseeing advancements across the pillars of the BD 2025 strategy, including a driving strong growth and product innovation. He will remain in this role until a successor is named.

Campion joined BD in 2017 when the company completed its acquisition of C. R. Bard, Inc., a leading medical technology company in the fields of vascular, urology and surgical specialty products. As part of the acquisition, Campion was named worldwide president of the company’s newly created BD Surgery business unit. He was responsible for the integration of BD and Bard’s surgery-related offerings.

Campion joined Bard in 2008, initially serving as global marketing director for stents and stent grafts, and then he was named to marketing and general management roles of increased scope and responsibility within multiple Bard businesses, including as president of the company’s surgery business, Davol, after serving as its vice president and general manager.

Campion earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a doctorate in mechanical engineering from the University of Limerick, Ireland. He also earned a master’s degree in business administration from Open University in the United Kingdom.
